Our first month!
Thanksgiving Day

I could leave the house decorated year around!

Our gorgeous tree. I only wish I could say I did it, but I guess I will let Mom and Melia have some of the credit since they did it all....and within a winning time of 5 minutes!

Mom's birthday present I made

and of course some pictures from our honeymoon in Aspen, CO

Tis' the Season

Hello again! It turns out that I have been trying to blog for several weeks now and nothing would upload when I tried to post, so I'm going to blog and then post pictures on another one and see how that goes. I'm going to start off by answering everyone's new question, "How is married life?" Married life is honestly everything I thought it would be. We have been married for a little over a month now and are finally getting everything settled. Our house is coming together and not only do we have a house, but we have a home. That is something that I have always wanted, it's peaceful and it's a place where everyone is welcomed. The transition up here has been quite simple and easy. For a while I told myself that I would never move away, but when the time came I had a completely different outlook on it. I was ready and I believe that was the main thing; I wanted to make sure that I was willing and I knew that I would be surrounded with great people and a great church to go to. Erik's family has been wonderful  and everyone at church makes sure that I feel at home. Alot of people just look at me when I say that I love it here then they go on to say, "Tell us how you really feel." Now that dosen't mean that I don't miss my family every single day and that I dont have my "momma" withdrawls, because I do. I miss them very much and I think of the people at Huntsville often. I feel like I see some of my family more now than I did living in Big Cove. It's given me an understanding of how much my family means to me. I talk to them daily and see them almost every week and we are fortunate enough to be able to drive back and forth. I feel beyond blessed to be married to my best friend and so happy to be where he is now. So many people have been a help to me in the past month but he truly is one person that I know I can go to and he will try his best to help me. He of course is the best out there to me! We have already had a month full of times to remember and I'm sure he wonders exactly what he has gotten himself into sometimes! Something someone said to us has stuck with me every since she said it, she said, "People always say a marriage is not really a bed of roses, but it is because even a pretty rose has its thorns." I've learned that nothing is going to be perfect but it's so much easier when you learn to compromise and put each other first, then it can come close! We stay on the go and are very rarely at home but thats what we are both used to and neither one of us could see it any other way. We have about five more weddings to go and Erik is singing at most of them. I'm pretty lucky to be married to the wedding singer :) The Holidays are coming up and it's our favorite time of year. I love the lights, the music, the cheerful spirit "most" people seem to have, and of course the reason we celebrate in the first place, Jesus. I can't wait to spend it with both of our families and together! I did want to mention the wedding, of course I can't forget to thank everyone that came. We were told that almost 400 people were there and that means more to us than you could ever know. Every aspect of the wedding was literally a dream come true, it was everything I ever wanted. We have had alot of compliments and thank you all for being apart. Our families and some close friends spent alot of their time decorating and planning and it was very much appreciated! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!!!

"Well you make my dreams come true"

When I was younger, along with every other little girl out there, I dreamed of what I thought and hoped my future husband would be like. I can now easily say that the Lord has sent me someone that is better than any person I could have ever made up in my mind. Erik and I met several years ago and started dating over a year ago. Even before we started dating I realized he was an all around great person. He has always been kind hearted and there to help whenever someone may be in need. He seems to know the exact things to say at all the right moments and is there whenever you need to just see a smile. He truly is a blessing to me in every way and I could never ask for a better friend and anyone more remarkable. It's still amazing to me to sit and think of how the Lord has worked everything out so perfectly. It's been a wonderful experience and I wouldn't change a thing! So now i'm sure everyone has already heard but I just wanted to announce that WE ARE ENGAGED!!!!! We are excited, ecstatic, happy, and beyond thrilled! Thank you to everyone who played a part, you all mean so much to me! November 5th could not possibly get here fast enough and the wedding planning is on a roll. Congratulations to my best friend Hilary and Daniel too! I hope you all have a fantastic week, until next time.

the perfect guy and the perfect ring :)
